Not that I'm a cheapskate or anything, but since the likelihood of getting one of these is almost impossible at the moment, e.g., not yet released, won't ship in our corner of the earth, etc., I decided to make one myself out of available materials.

For the casing, I thought of using Lego. I didn't expect the connectors would fit the Lego piece. It's a perfect fit! The usb connectors were the ones I removed from the flash drives and hub I used to mod my Eee.

Materials:
1 2x4 Lego piece
1 male usb plug
1 female usb connector

Tools:
1. sharp wire cutter
2. hobby knife

Procedures:
(see pictures below)

I knew I could make use of those connectors someday!  Cheesy

Later I'll add the wires and fix the connectors to the casing using epoxy putty/clay.

Thats neat! I just used epoxy and molded it, thats why it looks like a blob.

Very creative!
I saw a flash drive done like that too!

Make a lot have it patented big bucks!

Very niiice.  I've learned so much in such a short time!  No wonder you were asking if CDR King had an 8g or 16g lightning class usb flash drive...  I like the direction you're taking with all these ideas.

Keep it up!

Coolness, man! Love what you're doing. Speaking as a Lego fanatic (my all-time favorite toy is my Lego Mindstorms Set), this is great! More power to your projects!

Nice job!

If I didn't have my old PivotDock around, I'd surely create my own Lego USB connector.
